causes of autism
Autism runs in families. The underlying causes, however, are unknown. Most researchers agree that the causes are likely to be genetic, metabolic or bio-chemical, and neurological. Others also believe that environmental factors may be involved. Researchers are investigating a number of theories, including the links among heredity, genetics and medical problems (Zachor, 2006).

runs in families. The underlying causes, however, are unknown. Most researchers
agree that the causes are likely to be genetic, metabolic or bio-chemical, and
neurological. Others also believe that environmental factors may be involved. Researchers are investigating a number of theories,
including the links among heredity, genetics and medical problems (Zachor, 2006). There
are families that have patterns of autism or that have disabilities that are
related to autism supports a theory that says that a genetic basis comes from a
gene. There has not been a gene that has been identified that may cause a child
to have autism. There are irregular segments of the genetic code that children
who may have autism may have inherited by a family member. There is truth that
some kids are born to autism but as time goes on there is still no evidence to
find what causes the autism to develop. Under certain conditions, a bunch of
unstable genes may interfere with brain development, resulting in autism. Still
there are problems during pregnancy or delivery as that can affect environmental
factors such as viral infections, and having exposure to environmental
chemicals. In identical twins who share the exact same genetic
code, if one has autism, the other twin also has autism. There are cases where
one twin has autism and his/her identical twin with matching genetic codes does
not.
